My roman forum roleplaying character Caius Flavius Aquilius (at the moment in the rank of a quaestor urbanus) at the festival of Meditrinalia. It's the first time he's talking to his later fiancee Aurelia Prisca (the girl with black hair) and her cousin Aurelia Helena.

Meditrinalia is taking place at the 11th of october to honor Iuppiter and the goddess Meditrina. While mixing old wine and new wine from the same year, the participants of the festivity speak the following words: "Novum vetus vinum bibo, novo veteri morbo medeor." ("I'm drinking old and new wine to be cured from old and new illnesses.")
Then the mixed wine is sacrificed into burning fire and then the funny part of the evening begins with drinking wine ;)
Wine was an important medicine in ancient rome and played a big role in daily life.

I'm really impressed by your backgrounds. They are detailed without being messy and have very good black and white compositions. :)

Thank you very much ^^ I try to stay 'in time' with the costumes, but it's not easy to get different women's dresses with so little historical tradition ...

Maybe it's a question of composition. First of all I draw a rough scene - the bodys in the scenery - then I finish the bodys with clothes and details ...and after all the main stuff there's lots of time left for the background and I don't have to keep an eye on leaving enough space for the bodys ... ;)

klasse job! besonders die historischen kostüme. so ein historisches RP muss ganz schön viel spass machen (wenn man die ahnung von der epoche hat.) ich glaube, ich müsste erst tonnen von fachbüchern lesen um mienen char richtig spielen zu können. :P
