And now to something completely different - the every-day catastrophes you're able to see now at any time. If you have a one and a half hour way to work like me you're meeting lots of people in the mass transport media like bus, train or underground. As the weather in Germany's been very bad the last weeks many of those people are sick, coughing and sneezing all the time. Well, but not enough with the possible ways of infection - I'm working in the biggest Vodafone branch office in Germany (at Düsseldorf) and many of my colleagues are sick, too. All coughing and sneezing, as you may have guessed.
Not enough, even at university most of the people there are ill - yeah, coughing, sneezing, all the way down. And there's no activated heating system, too - I'm spending many hours in unheated rooms during the semester. In summer it's okay, but in the winter it's the best virus breeding place I know besides liquid fertilizer in a test tube.
Finally my body abandoned the field to the newest and most agressive influenza virus - I spend one week with sneezing, coughing and wishing to die. Well, my wish wasn't fulfilled, what wasn't too bad, but maybe you understand me having such a wish after several hours with rheumatic pains and no posibility to lie down without pain - oh, I forgot the shivering by the way. I'm just sounding like the worst hypochonder, and after a week with the german totally cruel daily TV program I got any right to complain (I just can't understand that there are people watching this shit voluntarily) - the program directors really seem to think that everyone being at home between 9am and 6pm just need to watch court shows, talk shows and vet documentations all the time (not to forget the shows like 'Cleaning for bachelors' etc). If I wasn't really sick I would now have burned my brains out ...
Dear colleagues, please keep your influenza viruses with yourselves now, I fear loosing my mind in another week of daily TV shows

But the thing you mentioned with recycled air has some good reason I think - we've got air condition in the Vodafone building here and if only one colleague has some illness based on viruses it's really quick infecting all the others ... I don't think air-condition is the best choice you can make for bureaus with many people in them.
If I'm home sick (which has been a lot recently), I stay in the bedroom, where I have no television. If I'm on the couch and turn on the tv, I can watch seven hours of solid court tv. Not much of a choice....
I hope you feel better. Cats help.
I don't feel that better at the moment, I'm sitting at work and I try to get all the stuff off my desk that was gathered by my colleagues last week *grin* I'm just counting the hours until quitting time ... hope you're allright at the moment!
